I am sorry for being so absent over this past week! I took a 9 day trip to Cancun, Mexico. I was hoping to have some time to work on my blog, but I would have had to pay to use the internet. These tasty treats require only two ingredients to make and their subtle flavour will appeal to all but the staunchest dessert deserters. Never Too Late to Think About Going Into the Nursing Field!

My mom is a nurse, but to be honest I never really considered being one as well. I do not know why. Only reason I can think of is because my mom never tried to push any profession on me. She always wanted me to pick something that I wanted and she never tried to influence me. And besides her, I did not have any exposure to nursing. So right now, I am taking night classes to become an accountant.

When I think about it though, going into the nursing profession seems to be a great idea. With people living so much longer and the Baby Boomers maturing, more and more nurses seem to be needed. Where I live, there is a constant nurse shortage. Two weeks ago, I had to go to the ER with a family member. One of the nurses was explaining how she has been working more than 40 hours a week, because there is such a shortage at the hospital. Hospitals and clinics are always hiring nurses. My city’s newspaper is filled with help wanted ads.  The last I checked the unemployment rate was around 9%. However, with the huge demand for nurses, the unemployment rate for them is not as high. And the pay is also great as well!

So when I had first set up my blog, I had used just a free layout and tried to make my own header. I had so many problems with it and I just did not like it. But now I have this amazingly cute blog layout thanks to Lady Jane Designs! I think she did a fabulous job and I could not be any happier.

 My problems with my page before the makeover: The biggest problem I had was my menu. When you would first arrive at my page, it would be all spread out. Then slowly (and I mean slowly!) the menu would shift into place. I also did not like that my social media buttons were all over my vertical toolbar, so you would have to scroll up and down looking for them. Lastly, it was just boring. There was nothing fun or exciting about my page. If you are like me, you do not know the first thing about blog design. I needed someone that knew what they were doing to help.
