Twenties Girl: Book Review

Photobucket

Twenties Girl by Sohpie Kinsella is written just like all her past books. The story is about Lara Lington, a twentysomething woman, about her struggles with her new job, love life, and parents. However, there is a big twist. Her great aunt, Sadie Lancaster, just died but her ghost is following Lara. Sadie needs Lara to find a necklace before she can move on to the afterlife. The book is cute and the ghost is seen in a fun light (not dark and scary)This is a great read. It is witty and humorous. Lara and Sadie form a unique relationship that is unlike anything else. The characters are adorable, the book is a light read, and many secrets come out that you can’t see coming.

I give this book 4/5 only because there were some points that were predictable. However, there were so many twists that I did not see coming.

Summary off of Sophie Kinsella’s Website

Lara has always had an overactive imagination. Now she wonders if she is losing her mind. Normal twenty-something girls just don’t get visited by ghosts! But inexplicably, the spirit of Lara’s great aunt Sadie – in the form of a bold, demanding Charleston-dancing girl – has appeared to make one last request: Lara must track down a missing necklace Sadie simply can’t rest without.

Lara’s got enough problems of her own. Her start-up company is floundering, her best friend and business partner has run off to Goa, and she’s just been dumped by the love of her life.

But as Lara spends time with Sadie, life becomes more glamorous and their treasure hunt turns into something intriguing and romantic. Could Sadie’s ghost be the answer to Lara’s problems and can two girls from different times end up learning something special from each other?
